3 niggles on parsing :-

1) Bacon's partner the man in question plans to sort of paint (8) ?G?S?E?L = EGGSHELL. But how does LL equate to "in question plans to"?

2) Orange's so long to perish when wrapped in something metallic (5) A?I?U = ADIEU. But why "Orange's"?

3) Sign one must stop visiting Tuscany perhaps, endlessly (7) I?I?I?L = INITIAL. Tuscany is IN ITALY. Endlessly makes it IN ITAL. But I don't understand how "one must stop visiting" means insert I into IN ITAL. If anything, it suggests taking an I out of IN ITAL.

2 die (perish) inside Au (gold, metallic)
..Orange is a commune in France
Eggs-he'll (he will; plans to)
Adieu (Fr. town - Orange's "so long") - 'die' (perish, in) 'Au' (gold)
Initial - 'i' (one, must stop; go in) 'in Ital(y)' (visiting Tuscany perhaps)
