I have seen a property advertised as incorporating a tower-shaped, 300-year-old, 'dry house.' Can anyone explain what this is, please? I was wondering whether it might be something to do with brewing like, maybe, an oast house? I am intrgued to know... Thanks.

My friends house, when I've been there at least 10 mins and she hasn't offered me a drink, (now thats what I call a 'Dry House')

Jem.
The term is also a mining term describing the building where miners change to work clothes.
