//Reuters issued a "kill notice" telling its clients not to publish the picture. The Associated Press (AP) sent out a "photo kill" email accusing the source of the image of "manipulating" the picture....The photo, designed to cool the conversation around the Princess of Wales's recovery, has instead heated all the rumours up again..//

It was Kate herself who edited it! https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-68534359

It wouldn't surprise me to discover that the media has deliberately doctored the photograph just to create more speculation about the royal family and sell more newspapers.

It has been doctored. Look at the Kate's face, it looks stuck onto the picture. The kids faces look almost over exposed, very light, while Kate's face has no light, is darker and not in the same focus. Yahoo only focus on two abnormalities. Why it has been done is the problem and yes it's very amateurish so I doubt MI5 were involved 😂😂😂

It seems ridiculous to doctor a picture.  There must be loads they could have used.

Vulcan good point. Apparently the press agencies hate the fact the Royals take their own family photos instead of employing a photographer.

Naomi yes it does seem ridiculous but the evidence is there. You say there are plenty of photos of them, but this was supposed to have been taken at the week-end. Had they used an archive photo that would have started even more rumours !

I mean in Kate's private collection.  Something that has never been given to the press.

Clearly the lower end of the fraud scale so a full police enquiry may follow with the expected outcome.

lessons will be learned?

I can see many trees in full leaf when I look out of my window.

They must think the general public are thick to think they could get away with something so amateurish. That , or they think that they are above suspicion which is ludicrous. And who 'they' are is open for discussion.

Barry, I don't think the trees are an issue to be honest.

I didn't say that, Barry.  'They' did.  :o)

I was just responding to what I read in the links

The real issue is that the palace have not said what the princess's op was for and the media are trying to strongarm them into revealing it.

Where is her wedding ring?  I kept mine on at all times when married.  Don't most women?

It was done by the Princess of Wales.

It was Kate herself who edited it!

"Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.

I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused.

I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother's Day. C."

Ladybirder, I don't.  In the house, I tend to keep it in its case because I would hate to knock a stone out whilst doing stuff.

Corby, you got there first but I can't give two BAs so I've given it to Lankeela who provided the link confirming it.
