‘From a black person I would expect nothing different’. That seems an odd thing to write. It almost suggests that you think that all black people think the same. I’m sure you’ll agree that’s not true by any means.
Regarding your hypothetical opposite scenario. We already have the answer, because it’s already happened. Where white settlers and colonialists have been, the local culture doesn’t get wiped out, it exists alongside the foreign culture. This is what has happened all over India, Africa, the West Indies and the Far East. Culture cannot be ‘wiped out’. It’s ingrained into the local psyche.
