Did you actually measure that statistic, or did you just make it up so that you could trash it and, for that matter, all other statistical analyses you disagree with? This particular correlation is not implausible if you consider that (obsessive) tidiness is related to a particular way of viewing how the world ought to be -- everything in its place, and so on....

I suppose that must make me the least racist person in the world, judging by the state of my desk right now :/
Just putting a pre-warning on this thread that racism will NOT be tolerated here.

We were just saying that about our house Jim, we now have an excuse never to tidy up ever again :)
Lol sounds lame me a lot of hoodoo voodoo, their “research” was just coincidence
I was going to click on that link.....but I just can't be bothered !
Interesting though as the results seem to be trans ethnic.....so people who are affected by this would be equally likely not to tolerate difference whatever their own ethnic background......I suspect though that both intolerances are among those easily transmitted during upbringing which may be another aspect of the findings.
Like Jim, my whole house attests to my non racist leanings!

Reasonably tidy, but not obsessively so, 20 yrs Service Life does that to you, but not at all racist, although I am anti Economic Migrants of any race, colour or creed.
I am very tidy as we downsized and simply have to be in order to live in something considered an acceptable manner without going crazy... racist ? never..... live and let live..I can't abide rudeness , unfairness and unkindness whether you are white , black, orange or purple with stripes !!
Well said Minty !
Interesting .........are the armed forces not obsessive with tidyness during training and in barracks ?
I'm very creative at hiding clutter and dust looks good at this time of year sprayed with glitter.

Report is as useful/less as any other.
what a load of bunk, i am tidy by nature but wouldn't say i held racist views, for the most part its quite the opposite.

Hello anne, yes they are, but that doesn't mean the obsessional level is continued after 20+ years back in Civvies.
Absolute tosh.
now my deccies are up Mamy..the dust will be given the glitter treatment..will be minging by the 12th night !! but intend painting the lounge on the 13th night so doesn't matter much...just don't look when the sun shines on it ! lol
I did glance at the study but decided not to read it too much. But just because any one person doesn't fit a general trend doesn't violate a general patter. Clearly it's possible to be either tidy and not racist, or untidy and racist. Rightly or wrongly, what the study says is that there is a link between the two such that you are more likely to be concerned about "social tidiness" if you are also obsessive about tidiness elsewhere. More likely isn't certain, and I don't think it comments much on what drives the link, but there you go.

Perhaps we can adopt this epithet.......From now on just call someone "tidy" when you patently mean something else. :))
It all sounds a bit ropey to me.
Picking two random things and finding an association -
wearing braces and being a psychopath, shopping at Lidl and manic depression, watching netflix and hating marmite, etc etc..

//...are the armed forces not obsessive with tidyness during training and in barracks ?//
No, Just a method of learning discipline, not an obsession.
lol, my cleaner, who has just arrived and shaken her head in disbelief - despite the fact I have spent all morning tidying up, will no doubt testify that I cant possibly be racist if there really is such a link.
