I don't think that the link actually says that Gromit. What is does say is this ::::

So basically then, people who voted to Leave were either old, stupid or both. Bright young things all voted to Remain.
Just a quick point of clarification. As far as I know, when I cast my vote, nobody asked how old I was, nobody asked what subject I had a degree in and nobody recorded what colour my skin was or what my ethnicity was. Furthermore, none of these features are recorded against my name on the electoral register.
So, as with the MPs who are sure which way their constituents voted, a similar question needs asking: how was this “localised breakdown”, which the BBC has suddenly managed to lay its hands on, compiled. Or is it simply the results of a “survey”?

The liberal elite media once again trying to insinuate the thick old gits voted out. It totally missed the fact my kids and my nephews (with degrees, one with two and one a Nuclear physicist) managed to vote leave with a passion. I must tell them they are thick now.

NJ...if you read all the details in the link, it makes it quite clear that not every white, uneducated, working class person voted to leave, or that every highly educated middle class person voted to remain. But the tendency was there.
It also makes it clear that lots of educated, middle-class people must have voted to leave, otherwise the leave campaign would not have won.
You have mentioned quite a few times, that you know very few, if any remainers, which of course may very well be true within you immediate social group.
But I, in contrast, meet many Leavers, perhaps because I move in mainly working class circles, and the majority of those people, when asked, give their reasons for voting to leave, because of all the "foreigners in Britain"
