Having seen the kind of chicanery that took place between the British Government and the forces of terrorism in Northern Ireland during the seventies, eighties and nineties, nothing now surprises me about the depths government will dredge.
For those who are the architects of trickery, it is useful if ordinary people such as ourselves are scornful of so-called "conspiracy theories". By heaping such ridicule on the heads of those who are skeptical, the chicanery and underhand dealings can have free reign.
Nothing, but nothing, surprises me with regard to the actions of those who hold power.
