I'm not a lawyer but I think our Treachery law is rather too tightly defined and often revolves around the handing over of a pre-defined state secret to an enemy nation, to the advantage of the latter.

In the 1930s, defeatism provoked excoriating comment but I don't think it rated imprisonment.
