............that after being nominated for the 'ice bucket' challenge, our fearless PM has declined. What a wuss!! Though he does say that he will donate to the charity for which the challenge is being met by all and sundry.

I did it this morning Ken, it was hilarious! The dog wandered up to me just before I was drenched and I absent-mindedly started patting her as usual. Mr P chucked a massive bucket of freezing water at me and soaked the dog too! Before anyone calls the SSPCA, she is fine! She is a spaniel so feels no cold! The video is hilarious!

Obama declined too. I wonder is Angela Merkel made of sterner stuff?
good for him (and I think Obama declined too). This sort of stuff is for celebs and wannabes; national leaders have better things to do with their time.

I don't like the way people try to bully others into doing public stunts for charity.
Do you think that Margaret Thatcher would've agreed to this?
I don't blame him. Why should he do it?
I think it should have been compulsory in her case, corylus.
Catch 22

He is described as a "wuzz" if he doesn't and will be accused of denigrating the post of Prime Minister if he does.

I don't blame him.
But it would've ruined her hair-do.

jno "National leaders have better things to do with their time" - such as surf-boarding in Cornwall. Much better things, indeed.
So he should, as PM he needs to show a little decorum I would think
Question Author
Then again, if enough pressure is brought to bear, he may do one of those 'U-turns' he's quite famous for:-)
Ken4155, Is he not allowed to have a Family Holiday like everyone else?
Question Author
Amphilogiai; decorum? 'here's me and my mate Obama in a selfie - smile please'.
I don't think anyone should feel bullied or pressured into doing something like this. It's supposed to be a harmless bit of fun, and if money can be raised for charities at the same time, even better.

He has said he will donate money anyway. Surely that's the main point of this?

I think it is called Fun Ken, something possibly a little lacking in your life!
Question Author
Amphilogiai; of course he's entitled to a family holiday - the operative word being 'a'. Is this not his 3rd of the year?
I thought that he ( Cameron ) came back from his hols the other day, emergency meeting about that poor murdered journalist.
Question Author
Amphilogiai; Now you contradict yourself. The ice bucket challenge is FUN!

corylus
But it would've ruined her hair-do.

No way, corylus, wasn't it set with cement.
Agree with 2SP and anyway it can be really bad for someone who may have a heart condition...why do this tuff when you can just donate anyway....mad world today I think....signed grumpy ABer lol
