Is there no end to the myriad usages of tax payers money in the wastage and proliferation of inane ideas in the NHS.

But, seemingly, this isn't confined to a particular NHS Trust, it may well be endemic, (no pun intended)..

Is this another attempt to persuade us that obesity should be seen as "normal".... well NOT in my world!!

As I've stated before, if you (or anyone) can prove that the nurses were paid overtime to make them, or, someone 'suffered' as a result of the nurses making the suit when they should have been doing something else then no money was wasted.
Zac...it has NOTHING to do with who or who was not paid.

£1000 could be used to give sight back to someone who was struggling with a cataract OR put together with other donations for someone to be relieved of pain by a hip replacement.

But no.....it was decided that a FAT SUIT should be purchased so that it could be experienced what it is like to be fat...........for Christ,s sake.

Some people spend a grand on lunch these days....it's small beer.
Along with the 'understanding' there is the training aspect for the safety and well being of NHS workers.
I'm sure you could spare a grand (or two) Sqad.
".....it was decided that a FAT SUIT should be purchased so that it could be experienced what it is like to be fat"
no it wasn't, it was purchased so that NHS staff could learn how to manually handle bariatric patients
Sqad, charity money should be not paying for cataracts or hip operations in the UK. That is what we pay our taxes for. Charity donations should not be supplementing the government coffers.
shoota........at least it is their money that they are spending on lunch....not someone else's.

Anyway, I can't hang around here all day I've got to get ready to go out and 'revel'. feliz año Nuevo Mi amigos
OMG..yes, I forgot.........the training of nurses.
Have we just realised that we have fat patients, are they something new.
From what I gather! nurses spend less tome with patients than they ever did.

Take a tip from sqad.......:do not invest in a company that has been set up tp manufacture FAT SUITS for the NHS.............it is a gimmick.
Chewn, should the nurses gain experience of handling super large people by asking for volunteers, fat nursing staff volunteering or by handling seriously ill super large patients?

They could have saved money and just hired Venessa Feltz
237SJ.........LOL......yes, but a FAT SUIT doesn't open it's mouth.

I lost my brother to a rare muscle/nerve-wasting disease.

He had put on considerable weight due to the fact that he was almost unable to move.

On the day I called the ambulance service, I had 3 crews in attendance - add myself & that was 7 people that had to get him down a flight of stairs.

Without their strength & support, I'd have been lost.

Anything that helps these wonderful people - who simply want to help those in distress - is worthwhile, IMO.

It doesn't matter who paid for the "fat suit" - if its use helps someone in the future, that's all that matters.
You headlined "waste of taxpayers cash", which it isn't. and said it was an inane idea, which you now say also that it isn't. gawd.
