Ladies, how would you cope with this

Not well i suspect,
woman gives birth to a 13lb 2oz baby, even though the doctors said it was unlikely to weigh more than 8lb.
That must have been a bit of a struggle, a six hour labour, talk about
ouch.

I read about that in one of my weekly trashy magazines. I haven't got any children - unless you count my cats - but giving birth to a baby that size was bound to have been a tad uncomfortable. But imagine the relief when it finally popped out.

My oldest sister has 3 children, who were born in 3 consecutive years. Their weights were 10lb - 2oz, 11lb -2oz and 10lb -4oz. Little chubbas.

They are all lovely and healthy at their current ages. In fact the middle (biggest) one doesn't have an gram of fat on him.

That is almost twice the weight of my son........oh, Lordy! I really don't want to even think about that!! :o(

Peter Alliss the golf commentator held the European record birthweight for a number of years - 14lb 10oz!

both of mine were 9lbs 6 and a doddle. At the end of the day the weight doesnt make the difference, its the size of the head and a big baby is usually carrying a lot of weight on body. The doctors probably knew, the midwives knew mine were big but i was told "what do you want us to do, tell you its big and have you panic about labour?, or lie to you until youve given birth?"

not sure what's worse, the child is now 9 months old and a whopping 28lbs 11oz, wears clothes for an 18 month baby, what is he going to be like at a year

and a 6 hour labour is very very short!

My daughter gave birth to twin girls both over 7lb. Does that count? Mind you
she did have a caeserean because she said she was too posh to push!

One of my brothers was a 13lb baby .He's now 77 and hasn't changed a bit.
He's still a a hefty man :)
I had ten pounder ...ouch .

Mr LL was 12lb. He's not a hefty man. Fortunately his son (and my son) was 8lb 3oz. Mind you I had a caesar anyway so probably wouldn't have mattered if he was bigger.

OMG I gave birth to a 9lb 3oz baby I was always a skinny size 10. It took Me 4 Months to recover.

I imagine you wouldn't have much of a choice but to cope with it... I'd probably ask for a hell of a lot of drugs!
