or rather, I am not taking them! On the packet it says,

Take this medicine when your stomach is empty. This means an hour before food or two hours after food.

Take one four times a day.

I can't work it out. I've only had three today, just had the third one, and I can't have one before I go to bed because my stomach will not be empty.

Do I need to set my alarm?

\\\\\\ I can't have one before I go to bed because my stomach will not be empty. \\\\ It doesn't matter one jot if one of the tablets is not taken on an empty stomach.........whatever it says on the instructions.

THUD!!!!!
Question Author
Oh well, never mind.
I'd do it this way...........

Pill 1 - on rising - wait an hour or so for breakfast
Pill 2 - an hour before lunch
Pill 3 - an hour before evening meal
Pill 4 - at bedtime

Thank you , Mamya. It's the bedtime one that's the problem. We don't eat until 8.00pm and I usually go to bed at 10.00pm. I'll just take one in the middle of the night, I suppose.

...and I have breakfast or lunch. Will it be ok to take two before I actually eat anything?

have you thought of eating at 7.30, having the last pill two hours after you finish, then going to bed?
Yes of course it will - if you eat at 8pm, take the last pill just as you go to bed at 10pm.

I think I might be overthinking this......... don't suppose it matters as long as I take four a day.

Jno, I haven't even started cooking yet and it's 19.46! Eating earlier would be a big change for us.

However, I don't want to reduce the efficacy of them. I want to be better!

I'll try harder tomorrow.
I imagine they need to be fairly evenly spaced out - ie preferably not one at 7pm then two at 7am, or the infection will be tightening its grip all night.

Sqad may advise otherwise, of course.
One an hour before breakfast, one before lunch, one a couple of hours before dinner and one before bed.

Apologies if my first response seemed a little harsh, but I was under the impression Tilly was a retired Teacher, and as such I thought she could most likely work it out, looks as if I was mistaken, sorry!
Lol Baldric. I would do exactly as Mamya says - thats what I do

Thank you, Jno, Mamya and 237. You have been very helpful.

I deliberately didn't put this in Body and Soul because it seemed an bit like a mathematical problem. My fuzzy head doesn't help!

Anyway, I'll get it sorted. Thanks again.
Agree about an even spread through the day , I wasn't agreeing with 2 at once- rather 2 before Tilly had actually eaten that day.

Eg 7am them 11am then an hours later - lunch.
When you're feeling rough calculations are hard work - feel better soon.
Sorry, I meant one a couple of hours after lunch. I wouldn`t worry about it too much - I expect the drug company have factored in some leeway with those instructions because they know people aren`t going to stick rigidly to them.

Thanks again, Mamya and 237.
The words Tilly and empty stomach in the same sentence, is something very rarely heard;-)
