Vanessa Feltz ( yeah, I know, but she plays some good music and it's only temporary ) has just played a song There's a Hole in the World Tonight, written and sung by them. I can't find it on Youtube. Lots of others, but not them singing. Can anyone help find it please?

Thanks Togo...I found that, then started doubting it when I read "Nice try guys" as one of the comments. ;)
Lovely, lovely song about a hideous event.

While 9/11 was a hideous event I wonder if the Eagles ever wrote a song about what the Americans did in Vietnam?

They used a chemical called Agent Orange to defoliate the trees and it has cause death and deformity in thousands of Vietnamese people ever since.

FAR more people have died in Vietnam as a result of Agent Orange than died in 9/11.

Yes because it happened on US soil they think they are the only country that has ever suffered a terrorist attack, when in effect their behaviour in Vietnam was another sort of terrorist attack, resulting in far more death and misery than 9/11

A quote from the web page below:

"In addition to the massive environmental impact of the U.S. defoliation program in Vietnam, that nation has reported that some 400,000 people were killed or maimed as a result of exposure to herbicides like Agent Orange. In addition, Vietnam claims half a million children have been born with serious birth defects, while as many 2 million people are suffering from cancer or other illness caused by Agent Orange".

As The Eagles weren't formed until '71 VHG, I doubt what Americans did in Vietnam would've featured in their repertoire. Not entirely sure why you felt the need to bring up that subject to be honest.
VHG - no-one should start measuring tragedy in terms of numbers, it's meaningless.

Was Viet Nam more tragic because America invaded and caused millions of deaths?

Was 911 less tragic because it happened on American soil?

You have to see the comparisons are utterly meaningless.

Tragic deaths are what they are - they mean more to people directly involved than to people uninvolved, they feel more shocking when carried out in the west than in the east, but the concept of tragedy remains across the board.

As to what musicians compose songs about - that is down to the individual on the day - again, measurement is futile.

Don't think like that Baths - always a possibility of things being taken down a side road.

It is a lovely number.

VHG, there have been many many songs written on the topic of Vietnam and a few with Agent Orange in the title - one cannot lambast one artist for not covering the topics of your choice.
