I am trying to recall the make and model of a car that came out in the early 80s that 'talked' to the driver - a speaking voice nagging you to put the seatbelt on particularly sticks in my mind.
Was it the Metro?

I had a Maestro that did that, not sure if it was early 80's though.

Interesting link, thank you, Mamya, but the car that I am thinking of is British.
Of course my memory could be playing tricks.

Hi Meg, long time no speak - I think you have it with the Maestro.
Hi Mamya, hope you are wellx

Aha! Thanks, Meg, that's the one. I'd forgotten the Maestro ever existed. Just checked and it was first available in 1982 so that is the one.

Fine Meg, you?
The only nagging I remember was my OH. :0)

Thanks for the link again, Mamya - I knew it was a troublesome car, that's why I was sure it was British :D
ha ha, The good old British rust bucket, and then some bright spark developed the Nylon enclosed wheel bearing that lasted about 3k miles. :0))
Such was the rush to get new tech in that they didn't wait until all the gremlins had been sorted out.
You knew that the car on the road that had black under seal creeping six or so inches up the door panel was very soon to be in the scrap yard. :0)

When I was little I lived on a steep hill. All the parked cars had bricks under the wheels and the gutters were full of rainbows when it rained, from all the oil leaks. Happy days.
Thinking back it must have been the early 80's, time flies. I'm good Mamya, thanksx
My brother had one of these, the seats were like sitting on cardboard. They spent so much on the tech that other parts suffered.
Just remembered, it was a Montego.
