I'm looking to adjust the tension on the mirror brackets of the Mercedes Atego that I drive.
Is it just a matter of tightening the nut to compress the spring at the bottom of the bracket or is there more to it?
The mirror is regularly blown in by the draught of oncoming trucks.
Thanks.

Just be careful with the adjustment if the weather has got to the nut Doug, I would use WD40 & plenty of it, when you try to adjust, Slacken >>Tighten>>Slacken>>Tighten, the do have the habit of snapping otherwise, when the job is complete add some " Copper Grease to the recess when the Spring / nut is.

Its spring Loaded, there should be a tension spring under the Plastic Cap on the Base /Top with an adjustment bolt.

Hi TWR, the plastic cover is missing so the spring and nut is exposed. I just wondered if there was more to the tensioning.
Thanks for the confirmation.
