Can i just replace one of these stereo's with a normal DIN unit. Just a little concerned as to what the "armed" light is for. I know when i take the face off it is a security unit so presuming this is just a deterrant for pikeys??

If it's a standard DIN size that's in the slot then more than likely it's a straight swop although you may need a Mitsubishi to ISO loom adaptor, only a few pounds.
The wee light is a vain attempt to scare off the big fat thieving grooms. :)

It might help if you mentioned some details! such as model and age of car and model of the stereo system.

Thanks douglas, that was my thought, the scary red flashy light, if it was mine i'd have yanked it out already but didn't want to destroy the old chaps car. Thanks
