Tinker Bell

10:25 Fri 09th Jul 2010 |

Tinker Bell is one of the most iconic fairies of all time. Originally from the Peter Pan play by J. M. Barrie Disney realised there was a niche for stories about the character and have since made another called Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure.

For little girls who are already fans of Disney princesses this is a must as the character is really brought to life and her mischievous nature is revealed. The fairy that previously had been a supporting character now has a speaking voice and a life of her own. The story is set before Tinker Bell meets Peter Pan but still takes place in Neverland. The film is packed with voice talent including Mae Whitman, Raven-Symone, Lucy Lui and America Ferrera.

Tinker Bell is born from the first laugh of a baby, and is brought by the winds to Pixie Hollow (which is part of the island of Never Land). She learns that her talent is to be one of the tinkers, the fairies who make and fix things. Tinker Bell is fascinated by stories about the mainland, and is thus discouraged to learn that tinkers don't go there. She tries to change her fate but finally accepts her role in life.
