Mad Men is a popular fictional series. Mad Men is set in the 1960s, initially at the fictional Sterling Cooper advertising agency on Madison Avenue in New York City, and later at the newly created firm of Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce. Mad Men has received critical acclaim, particularly for its historical authenticity and visual style.

Viewers have thoroughly enjoyed the three series produced so far. They find them comical and the characters interesting and engaging. The series captures the age perfectly in terms of attitudes and dress of the late 1950s and the early 1960s in the advertising industry in America. It is incredibly well researched, with faultless attention to detail and is great at recreating the subtleties of life and work almost 50 years ago.

The show centres on Don Draper (Jon Hamm), creative director at Sterling Cooper and a founding partner at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, as well as those in his life in and out of the office.

Mad Men has won multiple awards, including nine Emmys and five Golden Globes. It is the first basic cable series to win the Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series, winning the award in 2008 and 2009.
