My contacted hours are 6-2 but for the last five years i have been doing 5 45 till 1 45 now my employer wants me to go back to 6-2 where do i stand?

Were you ever given permission to change? Was the permission written down?

Discuss it with them if it's really a problem but if that is their requirement for business reasons they can insist on it. They would be advised to give you notice though that they intend to move to these hours in practice

The change of hours were at my employers request nothing in writing though

Even if they had changed teh contarcted hours by 15 minutes they are entitled to chang ethem back provided they give notice in accordance with notice periods.
What sort of problems would it cause you?

How important is it to you to work these hours?

Officially if your hours were specified in your contract, as oppose to mine which just states the total number per week, then you needed to have had it changed for the new ones to be agreed.

However, if you have been doing the stated hours for 5 years it is likley to be assumed contractual now, but its not cut and dry.

If you have a good reason to work them, then I suggest you submit a flexible working request, asking to work them, say why, and remind them that it has worked perfectly for 5 years.

If they refuse then you could take it to your union or get some legal advice to help take it further.

Seems suchme to have to go through all this for 15 minutes. Why can they not accommodate it any longer?

No they wouldn't would they but there is no other reason they are giving me hell at the moment jumping on everything i do wrong

So are you objecting on principle to show them you can't be pushe daround, or would the later finish time cause a real problem to you for maybe childcare or travel reasons?

Maybe you would be better looking for another job as the relationship seems to have broken down. What about a compromise?

I'm 54 years old and have been there for 24 years there is no compromise with this employer

In answer to your original question I think you know where you stand. You have various choices and none of them are really about the hours. Either fall out some more and pick a fight, or try to make it up with your supervisor, or ignore them all, do the hours and keep you your head down, or leave.
