Jacks son - who was he , locke told jack he didn't have a son so who was the kid calling him dad and where did he go ?

I haven't erased it so will watch again . Maybe jack and his son was him working out his relationship with his father

As I understood/interpreted it, the whole of the "alternate timeline in Season 6 was a kind of afterlife where people go after they have died until they are ready to move on. As such, the only people that were definitely "real" were those we had already seen on the Island. (Possibly the whole construct only existed for those that had spent time there?)

I think Jack's "son" was something he needed to work through until he was ready to move on and so wasn't "real".
Yeah its taken me a while just watched the whole thing again and I agree with LeMarchand. I also couldnt understand why the likes of charlotte and miles and Daniel faraday appeared in the flash sideways but weren't in the church at the end but I think thats beacuse it was only those who were close to jack and that he was close to as christain said nobody does it alone they needed you and you needed them.Im uderstanding more having watched it again.
