I think it was a tv advert in the 1980s. Perhaps for some kind of foodstuff like a cereal or a sweet.
I think the person who says "Together?" is some kind of authority figure like a judge or a king - it's someone like Willy Rushton - that sort of build/age/class.
It's driving me and the missus mad as we both remember the "Together?!" bit but can't recall the advert.
Please put us out of our misery!

It was an advert for trifle I think, a spoof of Alice in Wonderland where all the characters are eating jelly or custard or cake until Alice suggests eating them all "Together!" they all start shouting "together!" at the preposterous idea.

This is probably not what you are looking for

I thought of that wolf, but from the details given, it's not going to be the one Ogri is after.
Question Author
Thanks Wolf, but that's not it.
The "Together!?" is said with real surprise and disbelief - as if no-one's ever thought of the two things being available at the same time in the same product.
Dash it all, now you have me trying to recall. The word is spoken rising at a high pitch IIRC.
Question Author
> spoken rising at a high pitch

Exactly!
I've been trawling through compilations of 1980s' UK TV adverts on YouTube - lots of memories but no answer as yet.
Willy Rushton did do TV ads but I can't find anything where Together comes into them.
Question Author
I don't think it is actually him, but someone like him. I could be completely wrong about the other stuff too.
There was an actor called Patrick Newell (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0627822/) - sometimes I think it was him, dressed as a king - I've no idea where I'm getting that from.
Was it Brian Blessed?
Question Author
It could have been..although it's not tripping anything in my head.

I go through phases of not thinking about it at all, and then something triggers the "Together!?" thing and for a moment I can almost recall it and then the mist descends and it's gone again.
Question Author
Thanks very much, but as Roy Walker used to say, It's good but it's not right!
was it something to do with Marmite?
I can hear this advert in my head. It is for some weird food combination and the man who says 'together' is querying the combination.

Anyhow, I can't sleep so have been listening to old adverts on YouTube and I found zilch.

It was an advert for trifle I think, a spoof of Alice in Wonderland where all the characters are eating jelly or custard or cake until Alice suggests eating them all "Together!" they all start shouting "together!" at the preposterous idea.
I've trawled youtube but nothing I'm afraid, by the way the authorative figure was probably the Mad Hatter. Stuck in my head too!
That's it, Dagman! Bird's Trifle
Yes barry1010, Birds Trifle! Perhaps it's somewhere on the net, well remembered.
Did it not feature Willy Rushton as a High Court Judge?
Question Author
I think you're right Dagman! Trust someone with a Count Arthur Strong avatar to solve the riddle.
I'm going to mark it as answered - well done everybody!
You're welcome Ogri, weren't you a Motorcycle News character back in the day?
