I think the Moon is always 'super', no matter what the date. It's a magical thing, I think.

BBC this am said it was tonight!
I have just been out to see it, shrouded in cloud at the moment. Thanks for the information, both of you.

Last night, it was so bright I thought we had left the back garden, outside light on.
Right, haven't seen that, corylus.
For my area, too, it's on the 9th: 99.9% illuminated. But, it's closer to the earth tonight. So what makes a "Supermoon": the closeness or the fullness of the moon? I don't know.
Closeness, according to Yont's link.
A supermoon is a lunar phenomenon where the moon reaches a point in its orbit where it is closest to the Earth, where it appears bigger and brighter.

Closeness then, stuey. copied and pasted from the link above.

Can't see it here anyway, too cloudy!

Lets hope for a clear sky tomorrow night.
Last night, it was so bright I thought we had left the back garden, outside light on.

Our solar-powered garden lights went out; they must have thought it was daytime again.
Ha! That's funny, jno. Our hedgehogs got confused as well.
Huge clear and bright west London
So, in that case, Tony, it's tonight. Distance from the Earth tonight 358,405; tomorrow, 359,465.
Can't see it at the moment here ( West Mids ) to cloudy.
60 miles difference then?
