24seven PC Care refund question

Sorry to bother you, I'm not sure this is the right place for this query but I am looking for some advice & hope someone can advise me. In March last year I was conned by one of these cold-call computer repair companies 24seven pccare who told me that my computer was at risk but that they could help me. It was only half way through the call that money was mentioned & by that time I stupidly panicked & felt i had no choice but to go along with it. They took a lot of money off me and in exchange they turned off my Internet access for 4 days & ultimately caused my computer to fatally crash beyond repair. The so-called help they offered me was costly but worthless. I demanded a full refund but all i got was an offer of 25% followed by no further contact.
Today they have contacted me out of the blue after months of no contact saying that an ombudsman has told them to offer me a full refund but I would have to be at my computer to go through the refund process. My concern is that i dont know whether this is a genuine offer or if this is another attempt to either get more money from me by accessing my bank details or to access my computer for personal data. What should I do ?

Thanks for any reply

I would be VERY wary of doing anything while at your computer - they may well be planning to repeat what happened in March last year. Please don't fall for this scam again.

Personally I wouldn't let them onto your computer.

Did you contact the ombusman? If so, I would have expected you would have had correspondence from the ombusmen. Why not get in touch with the ombusman?

Definitely another scam. There are loads of normal ways they could pay you if the were genuinely wanting to do so
Why on Earth would a scammer want to give you a refund? The 25% 'offer' should have already alerted you to further intended fraud.
>>>offer me a full refund but I would have to be at my computer to go through the refund process.

What a total load of rubbish.

You have already been scammed once, dont risk it again.

And stop being so gullible, what sort of excuse is "I stupidly panicked & felt i had no choice but to go along with it".

If THEY rang YOU out the blue then you are under no obligation to even talk to them let alone give them any money.

Next time hang up on these type of people and you wont get scammed again.
These people are based in India and are scammers! There's no ombudsman and no refund! Why are you falling for this again?

NEVER ever give anyone bank or personal details over the phone, if they ask, hang up immediately!
