I have had a letter from the JCP saying there is going to be a customer compliance officer visiting me because of my Income Support - I rang up as I was worried it was a fraud investigation but apparently not.

I was told they had lost my original I.S form and needed me to fill it in again from 19 years ago when I first applied - I asked three times if someone had reported me for something but they assured me no it wasn't the case but when I do an online search it states they are able to pass it to the fraud department.

I am worrying myself sick here with it at the moment, thinking I don't want to go through all that when I have done nothing wrong and now worried they are lying. I worry because I house share and don't want my friend dragging into this - I stay here because it is easier for me than finding somewhere disabled friendly.

Please please help put my mind at rest....

Although I don't know the details of your claim it is probable that they are telling you the truth and that they have mislaid the form.

If you are not working, don't have loads of capital or living with somebody (partner) then you probably have nothing to worry about. If you have done nothing wrong then you have nothing to worry about.

Why the panic if you have done nothing wrong?
If someone had asked me three times about whether I had been reported, I must admit I would be tempted to look into it further though
why should they drag your friend into it?
As the others have said if you have told the truth you have nothing to worry about anyway. Any friend who chucked you out because of a compliance officer visiting, isn't really a friend

The only reason I kept asking was because I had already been reported for kidnap, and working amongst other issues in the past - all by lovely nosey people.

I was told that they customer compliance officer is different to a fraud officer and they just come to help you fill the forms in that they have lost.

I just wanted clarification from someone who knew more than I do...
If the DWP has been paying you money for 19 years I don't think it's unreasonable of them to do some checks and to update their information on your circumstances. .
As long as you are still eligible for the benefit there should be no problem. However, the DWP have to make sure their backs are covered at all times. It is nothing to worry about, it is merely paper work!

Hope the meeting goes well!
it's still the most bizarre reason I've heard for such a visit, but tell the truth and there shouldn't be any problems.
