You'll need to work hard to make sure you impress them in your new job to make sure they don't fail your probation or reduce your hours, and also try harder to be flexible and avoid issues with your supervisor- and be lucky to find you enjoy working with your colleagues and managers. With all that you might just make more of a success of it than in your last few roles

Abbey, that would be a shame - but I hope you realise much of this is of your own making? You're applying for part-time jobs and expecting employers (plural) to fit in with what suits you for now. If a full-time job came up, you'd probably leave the care home without a backward glance. Maybe you should put all your energy into finding one full-time position?

OK, I understand the care home would need notice if you decided to leave (how much ?) so you could try today phoning the new company re changing to Tues and Thurs. If that fails.....I don't know

Abbey it is you who is "messing" with your mental health. Take the new Monday to Wednesday job and show them you are enthusiastic, dependable employee by using your initiative and work hard. Resign from the care home and try a supermarket for Thursday to Sunday part time pre Christmas

Can't work 7 days so I'm left with quit care ask cleaning company if I can change my days to Tuesday and Thursday or get a full time job elsewhere

Abbey, getting a full-time job seems the best option. As you've discovered, trying to fit in two 'bitty' jobs simply doesn't work.

Abbey/My advice - don't mess up what this new company has offered you. Have you received official notification of your appointment from them?

Good luck abbey, I wish you well in your quest for a suitable job x

How will you be working seven days? Your new job is :onday, Tuesday and Wednesday, so you can't work at the care home on a Tuesday. No mention anywhere of working Saturday and Sunday.

Why change your days. It does not give a good impression if you want to change what was agreed before you even start. Work the three days you agreed, prove yourself and maybe you will be offered more hours. Or try to find temporary Xmas job for the end of the week

Question Author

That's fine I can do that but have to give notice.

Question Author

I'm due to start Monday

You did previously mention the date of your driving theory - when is it? Do you feel confident about this while you are considering your employment issues?

Question Author

No I failed 😔

Sorry to hear that Abbey though not totally surprised as you seem to spend so much time on Answerbank instead of swotting up. Better luck next time.

Question Author

I did revise some of the questions changed and passed the hazard perception

How many hours is the new job?

Question Author

21 per week

Abbey, did you tell the new place that you'd have to give notice in the care home? I'm worried that you'd just assumed you'd get your shifts changed! PS 21 hours a week  is definitely better than 9 - and fingers crossed that you like the new place, have no problems with the work or the bosses....

Question Author

I emailed them last week and got no response so that why I called them as it was getting closer

Question Author

Do I email the new job and say I need to give notice as now they saying they won't change my days as things changed yesterday like told me over the phone today.
