Finding Out Employee Names...?

Hi fellow members, I am new so please go easy on me if I post in the incorrect category,

I would like to know if there is anyway of finding out employee names for a company on the Internet if you know the company name and where it is based?

Hi the stig,
Some companies may choose to publish the contact details of relevant employees and some may not
Most would ask why you want to know and would protect the privacy of employees.

Thanks for your reply, I agree for privacy reasons this may be hard to obtain. However nothing suspect in my intentions, simply I have been put up to a "blind date" by someone in another company and I only know the lady in questions first name, so I am trying to do a bit of background work. Cheesy as it sounds.

Do you just mean directors (in which case it is info you might expect to be available) or are you also wondering whether you can find the names of back office staff, IT staff, cleaners etc (which is very unlikely to be available for the vast majority of companies- and why should it be?)?

So you are hoping to find out her surname so you can find out a bit of info about her.

Stig, are you on Facebook? Would the person whom has set you up for the blind date be 'friends' with her on there? Check their friends list and match the surname

Have you tried the obvious - Facebook and Google. Don't put too much effort into it - if she finds out it might creep her out a bit.

Oh no she's not a director just a run of the mile, office grunt like me, I am not saying it should be available I am just curious if there was a way, if there is not it's not a big deal. But the intention is to find out what she physically looks like - the last thing I want is to get a massive shock of my life given I am not attracted to her - saying that she may not like me, but curiosity killed the cat. Thank you for the ideas, tried facebook and the obvious searches but not luck, the last thing I want to do is creep her out we have spoken on the phone a few times it's been pleasant enough. But its human nature to want to put a face to the voice.

(I once had a blind date and didn't fancy him at all - it scared the bejeesus out of me when he started talking about the 'east wing' and 'west wing' in his house - But, he was a lovely, interesting bloke and a gentleman so we both had a nice dinner, split the bill and went our separate ways) Go for it anyway Stig, you might just have an interesting evening - if you don't go I'll bet you'll always wonder...... nothing to lose :-)

"lover-boy" that did make me chuckle best answer for that, well like you all said let me go in "blind" wish for the best, if we click, and there's mutual attraction/connection then good, if not maybe a friend gained. Thanks for all your inputs.
