Got ourselves another new toy yesterday,an Epson XP 305 all in one printer.I got it connected to the Vaio laptop no problem, but the poor old net book is another matter (samsung N145 plus)
I am probably missing something obvious, but because the net book does not have a DVD drive,I have no idea how to connect it to the printer. The instructions are all well and good, but they state that the drivers for the printer must be installed, and, because of no DVD drive I don't know how.
So,how,in VERY easy terms,do I connect the netbook?
They are both running windows 7 and I think are on the same homegroup network.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
Aya

You should be able to download from here: http://www.epson.co.uk/gb/en/viewcon/corporatesite/support

If you had bought a wireless printer, and you have a wireless router, you could have connected the printer to the router via wi fi.

Then connected the netbook (and laptop) to the printer via wi fi.

Then you would not need the DVD as it would download the drivers to the netbook for you.

And you could print to the printer from both laptop and netbook with no wires.
Sorry, I know that is not answering your question but may be useful to others who want to buy a new printer.

Just download the Epson XP 305 drivers from the Epson web site direct to the netbook. Look under Support or similar.

No, a magic wireless printer that doesn't need drivers.

Thank you all,

That worked great WyeDyed.

Now all we have to work out is how to get OH's phone to work with it.
I miss the old days of a thick manual that weighed half a ton but you knew the answer was in there somewhere!

Thanks again

I looked on one web site and it did not mention this printer being wireless.

Of course you need drivers, but when I setup my wireless printer I did not need to insert a DVD as the drivers were already included within Windows (or downloaded from the web, cant remember exactly).

Well if this is a wired printer,I have problems!

Every other printer I have had I have always downloaded the drivers,or some magic happened and they just worked, but this not using a lead threw me a bit and I didn't think.

Amazing that I remembered to plug it into the power :)
