What type of grass do they grow in hot countries

You know the grass you see when you are on holiday, wide bladed and almost rough.

What type is it, & will it grow in the UK?

Anything got to be better than my lame lawn

Here in the U.S., we have friends that live in southern Georgia and the Florida panhandle. Their lawns are mainly Bermuda grass... some are sown with a little Bahia grass for drought resistance. The Bermuda grass is sen here:

Why not but a book on lawns and give yours a thorough going over. That foreign stuff wont be any good in this country as it won`t withstand our winter weather.
