Bathroom Makeover.

I've been thinking about making some improvements to my bathroom and was wondering about laminate/acrylic wall panels. Can they be fitted on top of tiles or do the tiles have to be removed? When I had the bathroom done many moons ago, it was quite fashionable to have a border tile partway up the wall, so these stick out slightly more, but that might not be too difficult to get them off, but would be a big job if all the tiles had to come off. Also, do any of you have these wall panels and can you recommend them. Thanks.
