I have been given a gift of £200. Things have been a bit rough for me lately and the proviso attached to the gift is that I spend it on myself on a treat.
I was thinking of having my eyebrows dyed but have decided against it.
Please don't suggest anything to do with a spa or the beauticians as I can't do with a stranger fiddling about with me.
The person who has given me the gift wants me to spend it on doing something rather than on clothes, jewellery etc. She suggested piano lessons as she knows I always wanted to learn to play. The problem with that is I don't have a piano and don't have anywhere to put one.
Any suggestions?

The lessons seem a good idea. Can't you get keyboards now that are like stripped down pianos?

Probably Sandy, but having subjected to family and neighbours in a 2 mile radius to 2 years of accordion playing and currently learning to play the clarinet, I don't think they would stand for it
Here's some available on Amazon. But if you find you play in the style of Les Dawson you could do Whiteby a great favour and take it and throw it into the sea.

if not how about a bit of vejazzeling.
Throughout history great artists have suffered for their art. It seems only fair that occasionally an artist inflicts suffering on others. Go for it, Mrs O.
How about a weekend away? A night at the theatre and a good dinner?
How about browsing your local college for courses that may be of interest.
Svejk, don't you mean vuvuzeling? :-)
An electric keyboard doesn't take up nearly the room that an acoustic piano does. There's always ebay, but Argos, for example, does some cheap and cheerful ones that would suffice until you decide whether or not you want to pursue the idea. One with full-size keys ideally.

My 'treat' is to buy some instant colour from the garden centre. Something that's already in flower in its pot and can be put in the garden after to have its rest and flower again when ready.
^ yes, and i think you get earphones with them, mrso, so you could bash away all day.
yes sandy, thats what i meant;o)

Book a cottage somewhere, tell the family you're popping out for a pint of milk, return a few days later with a pint of milk and a smile on your face.
A days Clay Pidgeon Shooting for you and a couple of friends. Get rid of that pent up aggression and blow the little varmints (clays) to smithereens.
It really is a lot of fun, and they do it at Rufford nr York, so not so far to travel.

Ooh, good idea.

Secret AB tattoos, by which we could recognise each other.

Perhaps a bit more secret than "I Love AB" lol
