Yesterday a friend bought me a top. To my shame, I could not find space in my wardrobe to hang it up. I have a double fitted wardrobe with two rails, clothes hung on the wardrobe door, clothes hung on the back of the bedroom door and a few bits I have sneaked into the kids wardrobes. I am taking the bull by the horns, and heading upstairs shortly with a handful of charity bags.
(The numerous pairs of shoes and 12 pairs of boots don't count)

I'm just the same as you but only actually wear about a foot's width of stuff.

Phew, I am glad it is not just me Prudie
I have three large built in wardrobes, two sizeable chests of drawers, three underbed drawers and a chest with the excess.

I probable wear less than ten percent of my wardrobe on a regular basis!
Two double wardrobes with 4 drawers in each...two chest of drawers two bedside drawers in bedroom....3 door fitted sliding wardrobe in spare room ....coats and jackets in hall.....haven't counted shoes...clothes folded and stacked in base of wardrobes.....so.......Yes I probably do have too many !
My stuff takes up about ¼ of the ardrobe and shelf space, Trish's stuff is threatening to take over the house.
Yes and I probably wear less than a quarter of the clothes I own.
No Mrs O , you are not alone! I have half and a few hangers on his side of a free standing ( big) wardrobe , the majority of the room in the chest of drawers and an ottoman with all my rolled up ( winter woollies) jumpers inside. wear about half of it regularly, some not at all, but of course, I might one day !!

Oh, I forgot to mention the numerous drawers....as well as the under bed storage, all the coat hooks in the understairs cupboard and all the coats/jackets in the futility room
I seem to have a 'shopping at Weird Fish' problem at the moment, which was unfortunately preceded by a similar 'shopping at Fat Face' episode, immediately following the 'sale at Craghoppers' disaster.

Just how many jumpers/jacket/fleeces does one man need :+(

Also, the problem with shoes/boots is that at size 13 you don't need all that many pairs to have a storage problem ... and I do seem to have 'all that many pairs' ...
Well....we must be connected through our twinship. I tried to hang clothes.. ...including new ones.... yesterday and I have neither the space nor the hangers so I decided today to be ruthless...In my mind tonight will find my wardrobes neat and tidy with clothes hanging loosely and colour coded.....and the charity bags full.........
Hmmmm....x

Then there are the suitcases in the loft full of clothes that are currently too big for me.

Right, I am off to make a start. I may be gone some time xxx
shouldn't you have a stiff drink to fortify your resolve? Otherwise you'll be weakening and saying "Oh, heliotrope will be back in fashion soon."
Oh blimey....if you're off to do it then so am I....race you??...x
Here is "Saintly Ann" signing in! I have recently joined the "De-Clutter Club" too!

For the past 10 days we have been clearing up our spare bedroom which doesn't have a bed in it (no room!) it's a storage (junk) tip which OH calls "The Lost Tribes" as one never knows what may be unearthed in there! It's never been decorated since 1975 and the 2 wardrobes, from good old MFI, had doors falling off or catches broken. My current clothes never could be hung inside the wardrobe, they hung on what was left of the doors - outside.

Not only is it my clothes, I have boxes and boxes of toiletries and cosmetics (hangs head in shame like Mrs O) where they all came from I just don't know - maybe they bred in there? ;)

We have had some lovely white flatpack wardrobes and chest of drawers delivered from Argos a week ago, and OH has spent every hour since putting it all together, putting up extra shelves and cupboards too, so now I just have to fit everything back in .................

It has forced me to have a clear out, have several large bags for charity already with lots more to do.

But now its a lovely room which I can actually walk in, instead of squeezing by boxes, I just can't find anything!! ;)
