Has anyone used both? Which do you prefer? I use Ariel Excel but it`s quite expensive and wait until it`s on offer somewhere then buy a few. I thought I might try Almat gel as I can`t be bothered looking about for good deals on the Ariel.

I use Almat both the non bio and bio -it is excellent -OH has manual job and we have horses -it lifts stains the same as Ariel if not better. There Conditioner is very very good as well. I'm an Aldi convert -there soft vanilla plug-in air fresheners are gorgeous at 99p even better -smells lovely.

Sorry, meant to post this in Home & Garden but never mind.
have you tried supersaveme. its a money off site and i often get vouchers for washing products. only downside is they tend to limit you to a particular supermarket to redeem them

No, I haven`t fluff. I`ll have a look at it. Trouble is, we`re a bit limited with supermarkets here. It`s Sainsburys or Sainsburys (with a small Waitrose). There`s a huge Tesco but it`s a drive away which is why I can`t be bothered going there for Arial Excel deals. I use half the savings in petrol costs. No Morrisons at all and Asda a drive away.
Excel Gel is massively reduced at your local Co-op. It's around 65% off- check it out now (funk soul brother)

Gosh Factor, I don`t think there`s a co-op within 20 miles of here.

<their conditioner> seem to be having a dyslexic half hour on here -blame squad ;-)

Thanks magsmay. The Excel I use is bio and I saw that Almat is too. I think I`m going to switch. I discovered Aldi last year and I love it. There are things I wouldn`t buy there but you get to know what`s good. As it happens, I`ve just done a wash and forgot to put the gel in the machine. I bet there`s no difference!
Shame-

I stocked up yesterday - and we had an extra 10% off voucher

They have reduced the size of the bottles twice in a few months though- was 1.1 litres, then something like 0.95l, now 0.88l
Sorry- wrong link (that was an old deal)

I`m pretty sure Co-op`s where I bought my wetsuit!
Shame Asda is so far away, I use their own brand stuff which is £3 for a 28 wash sized bottle.
most of the vouchers i have got from them were for sains or tescos
aldi all the way! their stuff is great and i can't believe i never used our local one until recently. i save so much money....and all their household goods are great x
Yes, Aldi is really good, although the range is limited on some products

What almost shocked me when I started shopping in Aldi is how big- name brands get into your consciousness and convince you that they are the best. If you think of biscuits, you think McVities. If you think of bread you think Hovis. Think breakfast cereal and it`s Kellogg`s. There is no reason to think that those brands are the best apart from the fact that they tell us they are and we grow up with them. You can get (for example) Aldi own brand gingernut biscuits that are every bit as good as McVities for a much cheaper price. There is some very clever marketing going on and it`s refreshing to look beyond it and not fall for the hype.
I used to live near an Aldi and used it regularly. I think it was the snob value that stopped people using it. Now that everyone is looking around for a cheaper option they have discovered it is a little treasure house. I have moved now and there is no Aldi here unfortunately. Wish there was. Their cheap baked beans were voted best even above Heinz.

I agree about the snob value starbuck. I think that definitely applies to Waitrose. We have a new Little Waitrose that has opened up here. It`s Ok and the stuff (particularly the fruit and veg) is nicely displayed and the shelves are always full (unlike Sainsburys who seem to have some sort of delivery logistics problem). When there is something on the news or internet about foods that have been recalled for some reason and they list the outlets that the food has ended up in, it`s quite often Waitrose that are implicated. I think only yesterday an olive oil product from a factory was ticked off and the product was in Waitrose and Tesco. That tell`s me that Waitrose and Tesco sell the same products. We always think Waitrose is better though - clever marketing again.
I used Almat all the time - I came out in blobs when we used Ariel (a long time ago). Almat's brilliant.
