can someone please take a lookie at this http://www.ebay.co.uk...e&hash=item3cbba2de2f and tell me if it's possible to stain it a darker shade? it looks like it has some kind of finish to it.

would it need sanding, etc? any advice?

I'm a lazy cow, but would be happy to slap on some stain stuff :o)

It looks like it's been sealed and/or varnished. It won't take a stain without sanding back to the wood.

It's probably plastic.

Warlock, it's not plastic!

Would leave it, the cracks after scratches description makes it a no no in my opinion.
I'm not having another look, that little peep cost me about 30cents lol.

I reckon it would last a good few years, treetops.

Trim, I'd want it to match the rest of my wooden furniture which is very dark.

so.. sander, or sandpaper?
