nice :o)

right, we're away on hols soon, staying in a beautiful villa owned by my bestie friend's parents. they're not charging me anything, bless them, and I'd like to buy them a gift to say thank you.

I am broke, but feel that I should be spending about £50 and I don't know what to get them. they are a young mid-60's couple, and have no idea what their taste is.

any ideas please?

I know they like wine, but I don't know what to get. I think they have a stash in their shed!

any wine ideas?

I kind of thought about paying for a meal out for them, but can't work out how to go about it.
Hello Cazzz!

Quite honestly if you don't know someones taste then wine and flowers are a good idea (unless they are strictly teetotal of course). You can't go wrong.

I think theatre is quite expensive, and they're a bit in the middle of nowhere.

Trim, behave.. I've known them since I was 11 :o)

but can I get wine wrong?
If they own a villa then a meal out voucher probably won't be that welcome and they may well eat out lots. I would like a meal voucher, but I am not rich!!

yep agree lottie, they also dont cost the earth as well

go for something popular or ask your best friend what wine they like
If they are in the middle of nowhere (like what I is) do they have a nice garden? Perhaps a nice shrub in a tub or a garden centre voucher? I love garden centre vouchers!!
Trim beat me too it, but great minds t hink alike!!
Find where they like to eat, or would like to eat, and arrange with the owner to pay for a meal for them in advance.........then put the details in a card which you can either give to them or leave propped up on the mantlepiece if you are too shy. :o)
I'm a young early sixties person and I would like wine also ;o)
Go to a good wine shop (preferably an independent) and ask them to make up a mixed half-case for £50 ............ they'll know :o)

Do they live out there, or here? I think a thank-you restaurant voucher - if they live in the UK - would be really nice.

the villa wasn't a mega price, there were a lot of things going on and they bought the villa from their daughter. they're not rich, but comfortable. they spend half their time out there in the sun, and the rest here in the rain :o)

they have a tiddly garden here and a big garden at the villa.

Jack, my friend won't help me with ideas so I don't know what they'd like :o/

wine seems the order of the day!
