My question would be, why do the ones that constantly feature on AB with seemingly the most to say ina totally vaccuous way, disappear when something serious is raised? Are they just here to exhibit their so-called 'sparkling wit' or are they just afraid to put forward a real opinion?

My posts are largely light-hearted, I do have strong views on serious topics, but the News section is full of such politically able (to voice wise) types, I am sometimes reluctant to put my twopennorth in.

CB is essentially for chatter and light hearted stuff, if you post your serious issues in "news" Im sure you will get the regulars over there to give you the benefit of their opinions..

It's just that I put forward a serious argument about 20 mins ago, and got zero response. Had I asked if lime green went with strawberry pink, I feel that I would have got pages of replies. Sorry if I sound harsh.

Maybe they`re just bored and post for something to do. I wouldn`t say they disappear when something serious is raised though. If the `something serious` pertains to them I`m sure they would have as much to say as anyone else

Evening smart1. I don't see Ab as necessarily the most desired form of debate. Some people wander from the point on the most vaccuous of threads let alone the more serious ones. Others seem to have a hidden agenda. But that should not mean that ABers don't have a serious side. Perhaps some are too discerning to join in the general melee, which, at times, resembles Prime Minster's question time.

Hi smart1. If you mean the alcohol consumption one I would suggests it's because it's in TV as a sub-section of Media &TV so unless posters root around in all the sections they won't see it.
