Where is the best place to find information on the pros and cons of CWI? I ask because whilst the agent who is trying to sign me up as a customer tells me there wil be no problems with it, I heard somewhere that plain brick that is exposed to driving rain can cause problems. Or at the very least be unsuitable for the treatment. My last house was rendered so this point never arose. Any advice welcome. dtc.

I say "most parts" because the NHBC, amongst others, produce a map of the UK showing regions which are classed under "extreme exposure". Even in these areas, CWI can be used, but other measures are required to lessen the effects of severe exposure.

Thanks builder, I feel more confident now. I will have a look at the maps. The house was a good build of double brick construction in 1957/58. Ta once again.
