I have 3 hardy fushia's and usually prune back before the winter. I was unable to do this and now have soggy stems. When would be the right time to prune as I would hate to lose them.
Thank you.

I would prune in April/May and protect any young shoots from frost. Although called hardy, early young shoots can catch a hard frost.

I think I`d wait until the spring, and when you see some new shoots breaking prune back to just above the lowest one`s.

Sorry its a bit late to answer you both but thank you for your advice. I will do as you suggest. This is the worst time of the year to watch what wants doing. I have itchy fingers already.
Don`t mench, glad to help.
