Does anyone know of a website that gives information for family trees that doesn't cost a lot of money?

On the birth certificate what is his father's occupation?
I see what you mean about Frank S Taylor...........he married an Alice G Woodhead in 1923.
The Mormon Church are into family history in a big way - I think the standard GEDCOM format was formulated by them. From the experience of friends, they seem to be very helpful indeed.
Ancestry have a baptism for an Arthur George Taylor born 1st march 1901:
Name: Arthur George Taylor
Record Type: Baptism
Estimated Birth Date: abt 1901
Baptism Date: 22 May 1901
Father's Name: Arthur George Taylor
Mother's Name: Sarah Elesha Taylor
Parish or Poor Law Union: Battle Bridge All Saints
Borough: Islington
There is an image of the original baptism register which gives the address as 133 copenhagen street and the date of birth 1st march
Do you have your parents marriage certificate as your paternal grandfathers name should be on that.

Thank you Dotty for the information the information on the Baptism was interesting as was the address of Copenhagen Street which is different to anything else I have managed to find. Also the name on my parents Marriage Certificate my dads father was also named Arthur George Taylor (Deceased), I have been given to understand that my dads father died in a riding accident in the North of England, what he was doing there is anybodys guess.
Seems that in the 1901 Census 39 Hercules Road everything might well fit except the child's name. The Census was taken on 31 March 1901 - what was the date of registration on the birth certificate? If after the Census night, the parents could have changed their mind. I found a family with a baby just a few days old, and, well, let's just say the parents were having a little joke with the child's 'name' ...
There was a death for an Arthur George Taylor in Jun Q 1903 in Fulham, age 31, which would put his year of birth at 1872.

Hi Rose Maybud, My dads (39 Hercules Road)birth certificate was registered on 17th April, but I still do not think this birth certificate is correct for my father, the information that Dotty has is more interesting and I would like to find out more about that.
Sorry, didn't see you last post before I clicked on submit!

If the Arthur George Taylor at Hercules Road is the correct one, his occupation was stated as 'cabman' and the enumerator has added 'groom', which all indicates his business was connected with horses and therefore a riding accident far from home would fit in.
The occupation on the baptism I found for the father Arthur George snr is either cabman or carman, more likely carman as they were the handsom cab drivers.
Have you mentioned what his father's occupation was on the birth certificate?
I don't think that it says 'under 7 mths' in the age column on that return, i think it says 'under 1 month'
there is no reason for the age to be recorded as under 7 mths, I've never seen any recorded that way, it might be under 1 month, it might be under 1 week, either way, the name doesn't match the baptism of the arthur george but the address doesn't either, but then they could have moved before the baptism. i can't find a marriage yet for arthur and sarah, there is a 10 year age gap and so sarah may have been his second wife.
craft can you find any arthur george with father arthur george in the 1911? Or even frank with a father arthur george? I've found a possible in lanbeth in the summary books,
Well I thought I'd looked at every single Arthur, George, and Frank/Francis going but if you give me the address I'll have a look......
it just has lambeth, i put in arthur taylor born 1901 with second resident arthur taylor and a lambeth entry comes up
There's one at 12b Felix Street, Lambeth, but the son is Arthur Frederick.
ahhh right, I've found Sarah in 1891 but not found her marriage yet
I can't find the marriage either...........
