Prawn Kebabs

Makes 8 kebabs

Prawns are sweet, succulent and flavoursome, to make the most of them they should only be cooked for a few minutes. With prawns, simple recipes are normally best, they make the most of their sweet delicious flavours.

This prawn kebab recipe is very easy, the two main ingredients are prawns and sweet chilli sauce, everything else is optional, although peppers look beautiful on a kebab and taste pretty good too.

Prawns marinated in sweet chilli sauce is a quick, easy way of cooking a Chinese inspired meal without calling the take away. Perfect for a busy day but even better on a Saturday afternoon on the BBQ.

Ingredients

  • 24 king prawns, raw, peeled
  • 2 green bell pepper, deseeded and chopped
  • 24 cherry tomatoes
  • 7 tbsp sweet Thai chilli sauce

Method

  1. Marinade all the ingredients in the sweet chilli sauce, making sure the prawns are well covered.  Refrigerate for 1 hour.
  2. Skewer 3 prawns, 3 tomatoes and some pepper on each skewer. Alternating the ingredients.
  3. Brush some more chilli sauce on to the skewers and grill for 5 minutes turning once, until prawns are cooked and vegetables charred.
