Fried Chicken

Fried chicken is a family favourite and a guilty pleasure for a lot of us. Take away fried chicken accompanies many an evening, however this doesn’t have to be the case. Fried chicken is very easy to cook at home, it taste great, you know the quality of the food you are eating and it is cheaper than a takeaway.

Fried chicken with home cooked wedges is a delicious dinner and makes a yummy weekend treat for the whole family. The secret ingredient that makes this recipe particularly delicious is garlic salt, it adds extra flavour and tastes wonderful, but if you are not keen on garlic, you can add in other herb-s to spice things up.

Ingredients

  • 1 Whole Chicken, Cut Up
  • 2 Eggs, Beaten
  • 2 Tablespoons Cream
  • Flour
  • 1 ½  tsp Garlic Salt
  • Black ground Pepper, to taste
  • Oil, for frying

Method

  1. Mix the eggs and cream together and season.
  2. Mix the garlic salt, pepper and flour together.
  3. Dip chicken into the egg mixture, then roll it into the flour mixture, making sure the chicken is well coated.
  4. Heat the oil in a saucepan.
  5. Cook the chicken until brown on both sides.
  6. Lower the heat and cook for an additional 20 minutes or until tender and cooked through.
