Chocolate apples are a wonderful fun treat, perfect for Halloween and bonfire night. Unlike toffee apples, chocolate apples are a great recipe to do with children, it is fun, messy, easy and they get a tasty snack at the end, which also contains a portion of fruit. You can also decorate the chocolate apple with smarties, nuts and sprinkles or add another layer of chocolate after the first one has set. If you are making these for Halloween, why not get some icing pens and decorate with witches and ghost, experiment and have some fun.

Chocolate apples are great for autumn; the apple season begins in September, so you will have plenty of choice. Your chocolate apples will be crisp juicy and tasty, especially when covered in a thick layer of chocolate.
