Does anyone remember some crisps that were around in the '80s that were the shape of pasta shells (conchiglie) and came in a brown packet? They were the same texture as the potato twirls you can buy nowadays. I'm not sure what flavour they were but they used to be my favourites when I was young and would love to remember what they were called and who made them. Thanks.

All i remember were snaps at 7p a packet.... I loved those
and supa crunchies only cost 10p
i remember snaps at 2p a bag!
i used to love those potato puffs you could get, they small and really potatoey, in a red bag.
and remember those haunted house crisps too? black packets they were, i remember being in charge of the school tuck shop with those lol, i think they sold for 12p a bag, great flavours too.
i used to like the old style walkers crisps bags where you could see the crisps inside.
ahhh those were the days!
sorry emoire, i was off down memory lane then! no, i dont think i remember those pasta shell ones you were asking about?

Griddles was a bacon flavoured snack. Nice and Hanky Panky was another...the advert was quite funny "Would you care for a little Hanky Panky madam?"
Booldawg - I think you might be referring to Rancheros.
flip_flop. I think you've just answered the OPs question!
KP Rancheros are still available (albeit with a different packet design) in Ireland.

Rancheros were the biz... but they were stopped here back in the 70's. Loved them to bits.

Had thought the answer for Emoire was Skips, but they are still available and were (are) in a yellow packet.

Now... how do I get my hands on those Irish Rancheros???
I'm tempted to buy a box mail order!

Thanks for all the replies! I think you're right, they were bacon flavour. Do you think they were Rancheros then? The name's not ringing a bell for me though.
100% its Rancheros. I did some googling and read they originally came in brown packets. I think we should all do a bulk buy from Ireland to get a good deal. Imagine that at Christmas; Ice cold lager and Rancheros! Mmmmmm!
Unfortuantly they changed the recipe and now Rancheros are not as nice and bacony or fluffy as they were in the '70's....
I think they were called Country Crunch - my favourite too!
