and the lady driver with my order.

I used there new, same-day-order-delivery for the first time.

It was scheduled for delivery between 10pm to 11pm, but by 11.15pm no show, and nobody to phone to ask why.

At about 12am, it arrived by one tired looking lady, who apologized due to probs with the van (ok) took it in the kitchen, and put all chilled & frozen food away in the fridge/freezer for me, with a smile & a chat.

It was her last call, and she had about a 12 mile drive to get home, so I gave her a fiver, as I think she deserved it at that time of night, and her boss will be getting a an e-mail to let him know how good she was,

That is good service - well done, don't mention the fiver in the email.
I was just thinking that mamya. I don't think they are supposed to take money are they, and I mean any of the supermarket delivery folk?
But good on you for doing it trt under such circumstances.
Well done her & you & that's good advice above.
E-mail - good idea.

I would never have told their boss's about the tip, they might think they make a fortune, and want to swap jobs. :-)

I always praise staff & company's by e-mail or phone, when I get good service, but let fly when its bad.
I agree with good feedback, lots only make contact when things go wrong.

No, the reference to a tip being accepted could result in a sanction or worse, hush hush.

Great Service, she did her job well,
