Hot dogs are one of those things I always like the idea of, but the reality never lives up to it. They're okay, I just feel they should be better. Can any hot dog experts recommend me the absolute best, top-notch good-quality frankfurters for making an unbeatable hot dog?

Those proper German ones you can get are very nice, had one at a German market in Birmingham and it was delicious! if only i knew where to get them!
The only ones I see around here are by Herta. They have always been reasonable. What exactly is it you are looking for?

well scotman, not Herta, tried those. So, something better than that for a start. So as benny3008 suggested, a 'proper' German one.... yes we have a German market near us at the moment, but I wonder where in London I could buy the ones they use.
Eddie mentioned ALDI ... LIDL also do some great ones, in a huge jar ... which I also can't remember the name of.
Question Author
Yes of course, Aldi and Lidl, I should try them. Thanks guys. You recommend?
I had the LIDL ones at a BBQ this year ...very nice. I would definitely recommend them, yes.
