Does anybody have a recipe/method for making porridge from pinhead oats in a microwave?

Preferably one that doesn't involve an eruption in the microwave!

Using normal porridge oats per 2 persons, half a mug(250ml) of oats (settled), 2 mugs of milk, put in bowl, into microwave, the 7 mins. at 750 watts, stir with a fork to break up any lumpy bits if present Then back in the microwave for 5 mins at 180 watts. This should not boil over if the rim of the bowl is a couple of inches above the surface of the milk at the start. I...

I don't think it is the correct grain for microwave cooking. I have found this recipe for you and as shown takes a lot more cooking than ordinary oats.

Thanks for that info treetops, I'm asking for a friend who wondered if she could find a quicker way of cooking this rather than standing stirring for 20-30 mins.

Corylus I can't guarantee that you might not need to do the 180 watts for a bit longer for the pinhead oats, but even so it shouldn't boil over. I use this method regularly and perfected it over last winter. It gives a lump free creamy porridge.
