If you toast a slice of bread -does it still have the same amount of calories as before?

By weight, toast has more calories than the same weight of untoasted bread as there is significant water loss.

Slice by slice it's the same.

Interesting question?
Yes, and it's got cancerous bits of carbon on it as well....

mind you, you do know that food items which are broken are OK, don't you, because the calories will have fallen out?
Maybe, but what about the two fried eggs, two sausages, two rashers of bacon, black pudding, baked beans, fried bread and a coffee.
I feel your cholesterol rising, doc!
Good point boxy, i will pass on the coffee.
LOL

I really need to break a pint of double cream to let the calories fall out, any ideas anybody?
Put the cream in a lasagne. The heat from the oven will burn the calories away.

I think a very nice adhesive to hold the toast together has proved to be 'Whole Earth' Dark Chocolate Spread- Try it for all your DIY needs!

hc4361 - thanks for a straight answer....I suppose I should not have asked such a stupid question in the first place....!....
There are no stupid questions on AB...............just people wanting answers.
yes dear, in fact more. because we toast it with butter or cheese. which results in more calories but tasty.
Now I just HAVE to have some toast, made with crusty white bread - yum!! (don't care how bad it is for me :) )
Threw out my white bread yesterday.

Only wholemeal now.
