Please give suggestions of what you'd do for your mum on Mother's day without spending money, the more creative the better, thanks!

give her some vouchers for your time. To be spent when she needs a hand with housework, gardening etc.

Go for a walk together, or go window shopping.

ummm, you have an unique way of dodging the argument. It seems to me that,in your own mind, you are never wrong.
When I say "you two" to people who are having a conflict, surely even you must realise it takes two to tango. It did NOT mean that I favoured either one or the other.
dg, I wouldn't even go there, it isn't worth the effort, believe me :-)
I'll think about mine, she's been gone eight years now.
hi boxy mine was a long time ago, I was only 24 but I still miss her like hell :-)
Thanks for the advice bobbi.
I feel as though I,m banging my head against a brick wall with this.
Kind regards dg x
Strange isn't it bobbi, my sister says too how much she misses our mum. She would have been 102 this year, nearly 94 when she died - a grand example to us.
I know what you mean dg, but I can ignore now,, it's easier than I thought..LOL
keep on posting your nice posts I say :-)
I know that you were not favouring either one Grandad...I'm not dodging any argument..and I have no problem with saying I'm wrong.

It doesn't always take two to tango. It takes one to give a genuine answer...the other to try and pick holes in it...one to try again to answer...the other to again try to pick holes in it.

Maybe you missed the post yesterday where the person we're talking about decided to dump the subject matter and thought he'd pick on Jack and myself instead..
once a mum always a mum whether in spirit or here boxy,
So right, bobbi ;-)
It's really lovely to hear everyone talk so positively about their mothers (I'm not being sarcastic either).

I hope my kids bring me jelly babies/wholenut choc/bounty bars/marzipan choc.....stuff the flowers & cards.
I would say the same as bobbi, even just for the day.
firstly triggerhippy, please may I apologise for any flippancy but because I have become so accustomed to your glib remarks to me every time I am in here it is very hard to read the meaning of your words, your daughters pain has got be a whole lot worse than mine, I was an adult, she is not and I cannot imagine how it must be very difficult for you witnessing your little girls pain, I have, on more than one occasion, asked how she is but have never had a reply from you, this was most certainly assuming you were making another glib remark, and for this, I am so sorry
I would pamper my mum, wash her hair and style it for her, give her a pedicure or a foot massage with some essential oils....make her lots of tea and basically wait on her hand and foot, afterall that is what she has done for me for the first 25 years of my life..bless her. Failing that do some gardening for her..mow the lawn, do some weeding etc...path clearing...trimming hedges ...all that jazz, she loves to see a nice garden and isnt that capable of doing this herself now.
