Don't know what category to put this in.
Had a chap call at the door yesterday with the above Id and folder. Asked if I would take part in a Radio Diary survey/poll. I need to complete a diary showing what my radio listening habits have been throughout next week.

He left me with a Radio Diary to complete online via //www.radiodiary.co.uk and a £5.00 note for taking part.

Is this ok? Not a scam is it? Anyone know?

Thank you, Zacs.
Tilly...if he has the correct ID, how could it be a scam ?

This is the RAJAR survey, which has been going for years :::

http://www.rajar.co.uk/

It is the only way that the radio industry can tell how many listeners that each station has.

Its very easy to take part. Feel free to ask me any other questions, if you are still unsure !
Also ask Mikey, doesn't he do something similar?
:-)
Prudie....yes, I have worked on the RAJAR survey, but due to diminishing health, I stopped a few months ago.

But I do work on this IPSOS-MORI project ::

http://www.barb.co.uk/news/barb-establishment-survey-data/

Very similar to RAJAR but deals with TVs instead.

I posted this because I saw you were around, Mikey. I knew you would know.
Anyway, can't the ID be faked?

Thanks for the reassurance all of you.
Well, it could be faked I suppose but why would anyone bother, when they are giving you money, rather than the others way around ?

You can always check by telephoning IPSOS, NATCEN, gfk-NOP, ONS, or anyone else direct.

I'm convinced it's ok, so will complete the diary online this week. Thanks again.
Tilly...don't forget to fill in the on-line diary every day.

Don't miss even one day out, as the whole thig will be null and void, and your poor IPSOS man won't get paid !
Why would you wish to do this Tilly, its not for the money surely ? :-)
Some woman knocked on my door once, flashed a badge I didn't look at and said she was doing a survey on TV habits. I was polite and smiley as one would be, she then said they were only interested in what the males in the house would watch. When I said there weren't any males, just me and my daughter she said oh well never mind and left. I'm now convinced she was checking up on my claim to single person's council tax discount.
my diary would read 'listened to radio 3 every day' not going to learn much from me are they?

aelmpvw....but they will ! I have had Radio 3 on since 06:00 this morning, and we need to be counted !
After you've submitted it, they will want you to do a sex survey, Tilly ;-)
I'm miffed now - been doing surveys with IPSOS for 15 years and never had one on my sex life.
Mamy...I had the chance of working on the Sex Survey,
or NATSAL as it should correctly be called. But I decided that I wouldn't be comfortable asking people the kind of questions that would have been involved.

http://www.natsal.ac.uk/about/background.aspx

But many of my colleagues, mostly women. didn't find it too difficult.

The good aspect of my job, is that I can pick and choose what surveys and studies I take part in, as the work is entirely freelance.
That's the best way I agree.

An answer to Anne as to why I decided to take part.

I felt sorry for this elderly gentleman who was walking around, from house, in the cold and thought I would invite him in for a warm up and a cup of tea. It was freezing yesterday.
