I am trying to copy a sage accounts programme to cd for the accountant. I have 2 accounts here (Dell computer) and when I put in a DVD+R in the tray the message I get is :"windows is unable to read he cd rom in drive d:, make sure the drive door is closed and that there is a valid data disc in the drive" if anyone can help I would be grateful --- idiots guide only please. Thank you

What version of Windows are you running? If you are not sure, run the program "winver" from the "START" "RUN" prompt.

Look on the front flap of the device. To write to a DVD the drive needs to be capable of writing a DVD.

The drive front flap needs to mention "DVD R/W" or "DVD Rewritable". i.e. Not only "DVD ROM" or "CD rewritable" or "CD R/W" or "CD ROM"....
