Will I ever meet the man of my dreams

Asks Steleve:

A. That's in the lap of the Gods, Steleve, but here are a few ideas for increasing your chances...

Go to Ireland
You could take yourself off to the village of Lisdoonvarna, Co Clare in Ireland. Each September it holds a world-famous matchmaking festival, which attracts people from all over Europe, the US and even the Far East. Visit the webite to find out more.

Be superstitious
If you don't want to visit Ireland, try a few Irish superstitions instead.

  • On Hallowe'en, eat an apple while looking in a mirror and you'll see the shadowy reflection of the man of your dreams in the glass.
  • Or gather snails at dawn on May Day and place them on a dish of flour where they will make a trail spelling the name of your husband to be.

Follow feng shui
South-west is the direction of romance, so turn your bed around so that the head is pointing the right way. Also pull the bed out from the wall, because it's important to be able to climb in from both sides. Paint the room warm reds and oranges and have bright lights to attract romance. Anything in pairs symbolises unity, so hang two pictures, or have two similar ornaments. Throw out fake plants, dried flowers and pot-pourri because they have dead energy. Finally, write a description of the sort of man you are looking for and put it under your pillow at night.

Surf the net
Try one of the many internet dating sites. The key to success, apparently, is to put your picture with your ad if you're brave enough - you get far more responses this way.

And if you are the outdoor type, there's always AlaskaMen online which features an abundance of rugged single men in checked shirts.

Change your focus
Don't think, 'How can I meet Mr Right ' - instead try to think, 'How many new, quality friends can I make in the next few months ' If you stop thinking about bagging a man (with the risk of appearing slightly desperate), having a whole lot of new friends increases your chances of meeting new and interesting men, which may include Mr Right. (Try to stick to the sort of places where you'll find the sort of man you might like - there's no point in joining a gym in order to make friends if you don't want to end up with a fitness freak!)

It's crystal clear
Wear a rose quartz crystal to encourage love and rejuvenate the emotions.
